As a manufacturer of PET bottles, one might naturally assume that we are a key contributor to environmental pollution and degradation. This is why we have adopted a strong sense of commitment towards preserving and conserving our environment. Our commitment has enabled us to adopt environmentally sustainable manufacturing processes that are Eco-friendly and result in 100% recyclable products. We also use fewer materials which contain 30% less plastics to make PET bottles.
Employee safety is of paramount importance to us. Our well-equipped and large working area provides a safe working environment for all our employees. Apart from the specific training required to operate high tech machinery, our employees are also provided with all the necessary PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as hand gloves, masks and ear muffs.
Recycling
We all have a responsibility to protect our environment and save planet Earth. Recycling is a process that makes use of materials that most people would throw away. Thus not only does recycling help us cut back on waste and help reduce global warming, but it also helps preserve some of our natural resources.
Plastic is among the most popular and important materials used in the modern world. This popularity is part of the problem and the very reason why plastics should be recycled. Instead of throwing plastics away to pollute land and water bodies, we can optimize the lifespan of plastics by recycling and reusing them.
PET is the most widely recycled plastic in the world. All parts made of PET can be recycled and turned into new items. Used PET bottles can be washed, granulated into flakes and reshaped as PET bottles or employed as material for strapping, carpeting, fibre filling, etc. PET is made from the same three elements (carbon, oxygen, and hydrogen) as paper, and can even be used as food packaging material. Specially designed thick-wall PET bottles can be washed, refilled and reused.
A 2010 life-cycle study on recycled PET found that producing one tone of clean recycled PET in place of virgin PET saved an additional 14,067 kWh of energy and reduced greenhouse gas emissions by another 1,360 Kg.
Waste disposal is a major issue for our government and the community. By minimizing waste and reusing and recycling, we can cut waste by up to 50%. Composting can reduce waste even further. There are more than 50 plastic collectors and recycling companies available in Sri Lanka.
